New Year’s Eve – that time where nearly all the ladies across the world will inevitably pull out their sequined minidresses for a special night on the town. But hold on a sec – it doesn’t have to be that way! I mean, hey, if sequins are your thing…go for it I guess. But for those of us that might have a mini-phobia of all things falling under the umbrella of super-girly (this includes: hot pink, frills, rhinestones) not to mention predictable, NYE dressing can be kind of tricky. I mean, you want to be fancy…but you don’t want to look like everyone else.

Personally, my kind of NYE ensemble is equal parts sleek and comfy (and sequin-less). My favourite way to translate that into an outfit? A jumpsuit, or a cool top paired with wide leg pants like these ones from The Fifth. All you have to do is finish the look off with a great pair of heels (preferably with a cool detail) to glam you up and you’re good to go. I love this gorgeous Louise et Cie pair I got from ShoeMe, but Kat Maconie also makes some really great special occasion heels (check out more here).
