If there’s one thing living in Canada has taught me about fashion, it’s that outerwear is vvvv important. I used to think my coats ruined my outfits back in the day…now I pretty much build my outfits around them. It makes it super easy when you come across ones as good as this, by slightly-unorthodox-but-nevertheless-super-cool The Arrivals. I had been following them on IG for a while now, so it worked out perfectly that I got to check out their NYFW pop-up in Soho while I was there. Founded by a former architect, each piece merges urban necessity with the architectural foundations of modularity, functionality and movement. The brand was born out of the idea that supremely elevated products should exist at an honest price – so they craft each of their outerwear pieces with the highest-quality manufacturers in the business and sell them direct to consumer. No physical stores, no middlemen, and no markups. Aside from all the technicalities, aesthetically, their stuff is next level – plus, everything fits like BUTTER (I would know – I tried on literally every jacket lol).
