This past Friday, FASHION Magazine held their annual FASHION Magazine Awards on the closing day of Toronto Fashion Week FW’16. But this time around was a little bit different in a couple of ways. One – for the first time ever, the editorial team executed a live photo shoot onsite at the event, where the models wore designs from the nominated collections. And two – I got to be there, behind the scenes, watching it all unfold and social-media-ing with two of my favourite blogger/vlogger hunnies – Alyssa of Random Acts of Pastel and Sylvia from Sylvia Jade. Super cool because the images from the shoot are going to appear in FASHION’s August 2016 issue! Definitely a cool experience to be present for, especially because I’ve been reading FASHION for literally a decade now. As for the awards themselves – more exclusive than ever before, this year’s ceremony was more intimate than ever. Awards for Best Collection, Best Model, Best Makeup, Best Hair, Best Menswear, Best Styling, and Best Emerging Designer were presented at the lovely space at Andrew Richard Designs while guests mixed and mingled. It was such a great way to end fashion week – everyone’s vibe was so just so good, which I think was to be attributed to the relief that came with realizing that fashion week-and its craziness-was drawing to a close. (Oh, and the fact that there was a mac’n’cheese bar + tequila station helped too  )
